Sacred Games 2 Review

Yeh nafrat bhari Duniya dekh kr bas ek hi gaana jahen m aata hai -
" Ikk Kudi Jihda Naam Mohabbat, Gum Hai, Gum Hai, Gum Hai .. "

The Sacred Game Season 2 is here. It is going in a Backward direction mostly told the stories of the past. This is what the US has Narcos, We've Sacred Games & Prime waale toh Mirzapur se hi khush hai...

It is engaging just like the first one. The story of Gaitonde back in 90's then early 2000, confuses us a little bit but on today's scene, i.e. Sartaj's investigation is more engaging. You engaged enough that you want to find out yourself that where is the whole Consignment and who is behind it.

From first to second, Most of the things are the same just like brilliant Direction, good Storytelling technique, evocative Cinematography and they used to end each episode at very high note every time, even in season one they did the same. So that the eagerness to watch the next one remains high after every episode. The whole team was the same as the previous one just one addition, a master director of Masan, Neeraj Ghaywan gets on board to join the thrill.

Why we like season one more than season two because, In season one, We're new to this Sacred Games world. Violence, Sex, Gangster type action with Bizzare Abusive dialogues. Even in season one, the story is in its initial stage and introduced us with a lot of new, unique, badass interesting characters specially Gaitonde's character which is wilder and that's what we like that raw violence what we saw on season one, which pumps up our expectations for the season two. Our expectations increases and waiting for more rough characters and much-awaited actions.

 Expectations Always Hurt..
Just like Saaho ditches us recently (will review it later)

But In season two, the story rolls back to tell you the opposite of what we're expecting but that was a little part of the world from season one. In season two, they actually slow down the pace and finds some cool, calm, & relax character's when Guruji and his Ashram come in play.

I love how they open all the cards one by one even involving the religious sentiments, hate for other communities, personal problems with the characters itself, all mixed and it's a win for a Director to solve all the riddles one by one cleverly without exploding or stepping on the wrong floor.

Which shot when to come across, when to release the tension to move the story forward all this was done brilliantly.

Even the struggle of the Muslim Inspector Mazid was openly told. How he used to listen to the slur of his senior colleague whenever the case of his community appears & finding a house in so-called Muslim Not Allowed area's.

It looks so beautiful how they use lights, they use it to convey the emotions of the Character's on-screen through their consciousness or time travel to caught their desires, old sins, thoughts, bad memories to throw it out forever or to resolve the conflict between Gaitonde & his father and other characters.

I love the way they play with colors and consciousness. Color dictates the mood of the character. When something excitingly danger - RED. Just like the red light on Guruji's face when he is misleading everyone and introduces with his cruel disgust thoughts.

Hush into Blue and Grey & most of the time moderate YELLOW.

Talking in his consciousness, traveling in time to solve the mystery. I don't know much history about cinema in Bollywood but as of I remember now, first I saw this type of concept in No Smoking, recently in GameOver with different styles and now here.

Makeup & transformation of Nawaj looks real and aging. But Surveen to age hi nahi hui, Zara bhi. In fact or bhi zyada khubsurat ho gayi baad m.

The scene of Mob Lynching was Scary, Disheartening & Pathetic.
I like that they put it there because it shows both the hate & Injustice, the current situation of our country where we stand today. The scene portrays hate which is spreading everywhere nowadays. I don't think any religion tells us to kill or disrespect other religions. Be Human & save Humanity.
This scene perfectly relates to the words that Batya told to Sartaj -

" Koi Ek Wajah Hai Iss Duniya Ko Bachane Ki ? "

& All the scenes of Injustice filled all over the screen. Impressive.

We can see all this because it is on Netflix, if it placed in some other movie then it'll be cut it out by Censor Board or due to protest.
That's why people like Netflix, it gives us the freedom to choose what to watch or not to, rather than Censor Board making decisions on our behalves.

The story tinge in such a way that there is nothing like Spoilers. If I told you the Climax that also doesn't ruin your excitement from watching it. Because it is all about the characters and it's storyline.

I love the set of Ashram, it is really Beautiful and Voguish. Hats off to the Production Designer. Ashram looks very relaxing & serenity. The table, plate, furniture, walls, garden everything that surrounds Ashram was stunning.

Sartaj Koi Hero Nahi Hai, Chutiya Hai Just Like Gaitonde...

Obviously, Jab ek hafta bacha tha tab center ko inform kyu nahi Kia even jab wo nuclear reactor ka cast mila tha tab kr dete pr nahi case to Sartaj se solve krwana tha...

There's a scene in which I love how they fit the crawling of Jojo & Batya in the similar adjacent frames and place Sartaj in the same as Gaitonde's place doing murder in the same style.

Just another scene where Sartaj is turning his car around & on next scene Mazid also turning his car that completes the round, looks pretty good & pleasing.

CAST CREDITS - (Both Seasons)

I love the cast, they surround with some serious Actors. I mean this show is so cool because of the brilliant storytelling and awesome acting and every single actor deserves Applause. Especially, Nawaj as Gaitonde he's brilliant as always & Saif as Sartaj given the best performance after Omkara.

Apart from lead which is good obviously. I want to talk about the actors who surround the lead and yet shines remarkably firstly,

Jatin Sarna as Bunty explodes in every frame. When he is one screen, he just captures the audience with his performance.

Pankaj Tripathi, I mean this man connects us with the character so fascinating and amusingly. He is really good as the role of Guruji, he is relaxed and calm & By watching him we all got cool and calm through it's acting. Excellent.

I even love they take Ranvir Shorey as Shahid Khan as the Main Terrorist. He deserves this one.

Saurabh Sachdeva as Esha a cool badass Gangster always chills with his role and dialogues. I don't think he's much effected by Gaitonde, living in his own world.

Surveen was awesome as Jojo and leaves her impression on us. Lastly seen on Hate Story 2 but now she gets the role that she deserves. She acts really well.

Girish Kulkarni is a Marathi actor who comes to heed in Ugly & from then he finds his spot in different roles. See the clip and his class of acting.

Thanks to the Showrunner Vikramaditya Motwane & Director Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Ghaywan.

The writers also did a great job even when it comes to dialogues - Varun Grover, Smita Singh, Vasant Nath, Dhruv Narang, Pooja Varma, Nihit Bhave. After completing this, we'll be remembering the Dialogues of Sacred Games.

Also the theme music composer : Alokanandan Dasgupta.

Extra Shots :

What if Bunty langda nahi hua hota to Kya mast machata na isme bhi pr writers ko kuch aur hi manjur tha. I wanted a scene of these two characters, Bunty and Guruji to meet once on the screen & Let Bunty show his class to Guruji

Kyuki Usko Pta Hai Chatri Kidher Kholna Hai.
