The Sky is Pink Review

Sonali Bose comes with an epic drama of the year after Margarita with a straw followed by Chittagong with her co-writer Juhi Chaturvedi, (who've earlier written romantic drama like October and Piku) & Nilesh Maniyar. It's grim, credible, & heart wreaking.
I cried three times during this film.

It's a story of a girl named Aisha, narrates her life from birth to death due to diagnosis with Pulmonary Fibrosis and about her parents, Moose and Panda suffer through her life. The film shows their struggle to keep her alive. They did every possible thing to cure her, have to change their country for living, asking for donations for her treatment, even lived apart for survival.

In this film, the vitality of parents is shown, how they are ready to fight with any problem to save their child.

Panda, take care of her very carefully and cautiously. Even before sitting on the plane, she knows where the extra oxygen cylinder kept, for an emergency. She studies and researches a lot on her disease and treatment.
She wants to die her merrily so, give her every happiness that she can - Puppy, Boyfriend, Emergency Vacation, etc. Also, train her to exercise so, that her lungs can develop and works properly.

There were two-three scenes where I cried but mostly at the climax and other, where she can have a treatment through which her life got extended by ten years, but Moose and Panda contradict each other, Panda is convinced but Moose didn't trust the treatment. Finally, they decided to ask Asisha & Panda tries to convince her for the treatment but she denied and gives a heartbreak to both. Eventually, Moose who also don't want the treatment cried by her decision deep down inside - silently.

After a lot of discontents, Aisha finally brokes and calls her brother, Ishan and says, she don't want to die this soon.
He tried to convince her somehow and threw his bag in a rage while disconnecting the phone. This is the feeling where you just can't do anything, seeing your sister dying slowly, the feeling of helplessness.

They finally realize, she didn't have much time so they start spending more time with her, even starts work from home, from her room.
Aisha even writes a book on her disease.

The pulse oximeter was always hanging around Panda's neck. She used to wear it like a whistle, to monitor Aisha's breath that's why she knows that Aisha will be going to die soon because she is consuming way more oxygen than usual. She has extra cylinders of oxygen in her house and calls everybody to come home to see her for the very last time ..

We all know how talented the cast is and what they can do with their acting skills but what script provides is the rigid base to the cake, their acting gives the flavor and thematic music adds the cherry on it. This is what we want, a good script with this magical performance, delicious and delightful to watch.

Farhan, Priyanka was a pair we're looking forward to after Dil Dhadhakne Do. They should have done more films because they connect better. This film could be boring and flat filled with sadness but their acting, their performances uplift this film emotionally. The whole emotions I feel because of their acting and subdued plot with heady music.
Even the tone of the characters changes according to the situation.

Zaira Wasim as Aisha looks so cute and gives her best. After Dangal, Secret Superstar, she's the real talent.

The song Dil hi toh hai ❤❤
